Detailing a Proto 2000 Alco PA
This is going to end up taking a while to get going. When I received the locomotive it was covered in gear oil. The first thing I had to do was to remove the shell and fuel tank and wash them thoroughly in dish soap to remove the oil. In the other photo you can see I have the drive mechanism hanging vertically to allow the oil to slowly drip off the unit. I really don't want have to take the whole thing apart to clean it. I will definitely have to remove the side frames to clean them or I will never get paint to stick to them.
